Yeah, I know buying your Batman and Robin bedding at Pottery Barn Kids can be a little expensive on the front end, but if you consider the resale value the initial cost doesn’t look so bad. While still not cheap, getting one of these high quality comforter sets new and then selling it when your children outgrow the Super Hero phase makes a lot of sense. Or…you can take the discount approach and shop for a set of good, used sheets and bedding yourself!
Buying a cheap bed in a bag is OK, but in my experience the fabric of the comforter and fitted sheets just doesn’t hold up or hold its color as well as Pottery Barn Kids bedding sets. What happens here is that you start out with a colorful Batman bedroom and after a few trips through the wash, your comforter and sheets are faded compared to the curtains and bed skirt that aren’t laundered as often.
BATMAN BEDROOM DECORATING IDEAS
I recently decorated a toddler boys bedroom on a very slim budget. I didn’t want to skimp on the quality of the comforter set, so I convinced the mom that it would be a good idea to go ahead and pay $160 for the sheet set and the pillow sham with the Batman logo. This took a big bite out of our bedroom decorating budget and left very little room for decorations for the room. Luckily, the child’s dad had a nice collection of Batman posters and stuff from the 1960s that was at my disposal to use in decorating the wall shelves.

If we had run out of money, my plan was to take a plain table lamp and replace the shade with a Batman lamp shade. As it turned out, we were able to get the little boy the animated lamp that he loved and still had a little left over for some Batman wall decals and stickers to dress up his bedroom furniture!
THE BOTTOM LINE
Since we got free shipping on the Batman bedding, we bought a used lamp and used posters and figurines from Dad’s Batman collection as room decor the total cost of the boy’s Batman bedroom decorating project cost less than $300.
