COWGIRL BEDROOM IDEAS and DECOR
Cowgirl decorations are easy and cheap! Hang some lucky horseshoes over the bedroom door, display horse blankets on the walls, drape a patchwork quilt over the back of your antique rocker and sling a braided rag rug at the side of the bed and you’re good. But one of my favorite cowgirl wall decorations would be old western cowboy pictures. All you have to do is frame a few vintage photographs, frame an old cowboy movie poster or even better do both!

Awhile back I decorated a cowgirl bedroom for a girl who liked everything personalized with her name. I had a friend who has a metalworking shop to take a strand of rusty barbed wire and bend it to spell her name (thank Heavens her name was spelled with four letters!). Needless to say, she was very impressed to with my cowgirl wall decorations.

COWGIRL BEDROOM COLORS
Old westerns are in black and white so I can’t tell for certain what color the gingham check curtains over the windows may be although I can imagine that if the film was colorized that they might be red and white checks or possibly yellow and white. And the bandana print scarves around the cowboys’ necks would more than likely be red or blue with a black paisley pattern. So, whenever decorating a cowgirl bedroom I do my best to come up with a set of cowgirl bedding that would shine surrounded by similar colors, prints and patterns. Bedding sets in a horse theme are very forgiving and flexible as far choosing a color scheme. Leather saddles, cowboy boots and hats are generally wide open as well.

If your cowgirl’s bedroom is still painted the same shade of pink as when it was a nursery, simply toss the little cowgirl baby bedding set and move the big girl bed in along with the brand new cowgirl comforter set. With many girls western bedding collections I have managed to design a pink cowgirl room filled with horses with no problems.

The bottom line is that modern cowgirls want their horses and equal opportunity to participate in the rodeos and cattle roundups, but when it’s time to leave they want to go home to a room that is as far from being dusty, rusty and smelling like a barn as they can get.
