A friend of mine found out the hard what that a set of Dora the Explorer bedding was what her toddler had her heart set on. She hoped to wear her daughter down by introducing her to other options and change her mind. My decorating consultation was put on hold so that she could accomplish this.

Those of you who haven't gotten a look at a Dora the Explorer comforter might wonder why this was such a big deal. Those of you who have understand. You see, the colors in Dora the Explorer merchandise are pretty bold. Well, they are not that bad so long as you are a fan of bright pink, purple, orange and lavender. And if you are not....well, you understand what this mom was going through.

DORA THE EXPLORER BEDDING
After a week or so passed this lady caught me on my way to the bedding outlet mall and asked me if I would look for her little girl a set of Dora the Explorer bedding that cost less than $50. Her reasoning was that if she had to buy a comforter set that she wasn't crazy about she refused to buy something expensive in hopes that she could give her little girl what she wanted for a couple of months then give the bedroom a makeover.

Understanding her dilemma, I agreed to help her out. And when I arrived at my favorite discount store, I quick found a reason to become a fan of Dora the Explorer bedroom decorating ideas and decor; that stuff is so CHEAP!

What I found was a complete bed in the bag set that not only contained the comforter and a set of sheets but a window valance and throw pillow for less than $100. Since it was more expensive than her previously mentioned price range, I gave her a call to see if she wanted me to buy it. When she heard that she was getting the Dora the Explorer comforter set plus the window treatments and room decor she told me not to let that bed in a bag out of my sight!

Now all that is needed to decorate this little girl’s bedroom will be some wall decorations and maybe an area rug. The only downside here (in my opinion) is all that pink and purple can be downright overwhelming. All the way home from the outlet mall, I was making mental notes for bedroom decorating ideas that would tone down the wild colors in the Dora the Explorer bedding set.

My suggestion would be to shop for some Dora the Explorer merchandise that puts the focus on Boots to bring some neutral colors into the room. If her bedroom decorating budget is running short, I plan to suggest that my friend look for some free posters to frame some coloring pages that her daughter and her friends color. Who knows, this decorating project may turn out to be so cute that she and her little girl enjoy it for quite a while!
