Pink princess bedroom ideas are precious, but I prefer purple and lavender! My little Libby is a total princess which is no surprise since from the time she was born, I have looked forward to decorating her bedroom in a fairy princess theme.

One of the first gifts that I opened at my housewarming party was a princess wall decal that says, "I'm the Princess of this Castle" and believe me when I say that she is! Her favorite outfit for any day is her pink fairy princess tutu, her tiara and magic wand.

However, real life is not like a fairytale and my decorating budget took a real hit in this economy, so my original princess bedroom ideas that included a set of designer bedding and a lovely iron princess bed had to be put on hold for later.

I didn't let money (or lack of) keep me from decorating a cute princess theme bedroom for my daughter. But rather than expensive boutique bedding with a princess bedding set that my niece had used in her room that was in excellent condition. I got a free princess comforter set including the quilt, shams and sheets PLUS the darling princess window valance that you see in the pictures. After that surprise gift, I started to adjust my princess bedroom ideas to accommodate the colors of the bedding.

Right away I started painting three walls lavender with an royal purple accent wall. My plan is to position her princess wall decal directly over the headboard of her bed.

The walls looked so pretty that I have added painting the furniture to my list of princess bedroom ideas. I'm thinking that after I paint the bookcases, dresser and headboard that I will stencil either a princess crown or castle on the top of each of them.

Libby already had a toy princess castle in her room that you can take apart and convert it into a table and chair set that I arranged to make a little craft nook in the corner.

Next, I want to make a girl's barrette and hair bow holder with a princess crown or fairy castle on it.
